Do any other parents have problems with Huggies?

duvaldiva.com asked:

I used Pampers Swaddlers on my daughter and was totally pleased. After that one pack ran out, I had several $1-$1.50 off coupons for Huggies so I bought a pack of them and boy am I sorry. They leak constantly and fit weird on her. I was wondering if it’s just me. I will switch back to Pampers Swaddlers when this pack runs out.
To be exact they are called Huggies Super Mega Baby Shaped Fit. I see a lot of you are saying Supreme worked well, I wish I would’ve seen those on the shelf. And this pack says that these diapers have a New Leaklock…What a lie!
Additionally, they feel so cheap like I’m wrapping her in tissue paper. They feel rough on the outside like sandpaper, just a waste. I’m learning, this is my first child.

ALWAYS did, tried them with all three kids but they leak. I only use pampers, luvs work as far as leakage but dont have the stretch that we like.

I think it varies with each child. I have four. My first two could only wear Pampers. My second two can only wear huggies. All other brands would give them a horrible rash. Not to mention huggies use to leak for my first two… but they don’t for my last two.

When my son was a newborn I only used Swaddlers but they only sell them up to size 2, so after that I use Huggies Supreme which I like very much.

  • Royalhinney says:

I didn’t like Huggies either. They leaked and poop got everywhere!

  • Tracy O says:

It depends on the child, every diaper fits everyone different. Use the huggies during the day when you are around the house to get rid of them and go back to what works for her.

I’ve found Huggies has worked the best. When ever my child leaked more then once in a while, I would up the size.

P.S. When you use Huggies the adhesive strips should attach to the diaper 1″ or less apart. If you don’t attach snugly then I’ve also had problems

I used huggies supremes with both of my kids and loved them they worked well and didn’t have pee odors. Although I did not like regualar huggies. The supremes are slimer and thicker.

I think after having 3 kids and using pampers, huggies and luvs that each child’s urine output and waste is different each kid could only wear one diaper due to leaks and rashes. I found pampers do not leak through like other brands.

I, too, had the same problem with Huggies – however, for some reason it was their supreme line that leaked. Their “non-supreme” line did an acceptable job. With that being said, we ditched Huggies for Pampers and haven’t looked back since. Pampers have been a much better product.

  • redrum says:

Yep, had problems with huggies too. I have tried pampers and they didn’t leak as bad as huggies did but we have had to switch to luvs and I haven’t had any problems at all with them.

  • aintgivinup79 says:

I never liked huggies always used pampers!

  • keishahayes2003 says:

Yes I did they leak sometimes and my son could take them OFF!! so pampers and luvs are okay but huggies need to do a lot better with thier pampers.

  • cdj514 says:

I used Pampers for the first 8-12 months. Then I got smart and got Luvs!!!

  • aimstir31 says:

I like the Huggie Supreme’s. I like the pampers cruisers. My sister likes luvs and I don’t care for them. Pamper cruisers are the best. I want to try the new kind they have. I think they are called flexed Pampers. I”m sticking with pampers.

  • rache0116 says:

i cant stand huggies…. it always leaked … i use only pampers

  • M~Lyna says:

With my daughters I couldn’t use huggies because they leaked too, I could only use pampers! Now with my son I can’t use pampers because they leak!!! So I use huggies!!! It is wierd, maybe it is just the way they fit certin babies… I guess you really have to just find the brand that fits your baby the best and what you are most satisfied with! Well good luck and sounds like maybe you will need to stick with pampers.

I hated huggies. my son would go just once and soak them. so i bought luvs. the work just like pampers and alot cheaper.

  • Lisa says:

Pampers Swaddlers are the best diapers. I had problems with Huggies as well as Luvs. My son constantly leaked out of the Luvs and Huggies. Pampers are hands down my choice for a diaper.

  • angelbaby says:

I don’t understand why everyone keeps saying they’ve had problems with Huggies leaking. I’ve been using them for quite awhile, because I like the stretchy waistband. I used to use Luvs, but anyone who used to change my daughter would either put the diaper on way too loose or way too tight. So the elastic works for me. The only leaking problem I’ve had with Huggies is out the top front some nights after she wakes up in the morning. But that has happened on occasion no matter what diaper I use. Other than that, I’ve had no problems with them. Like I said, I used to use Luvs (they smell great, too), but I never tried Pampers.

When you dont like a product you’ve bought ring the company & tell them your problem (Make sure you keep the package, they might ask you to quote a number on it). They usually send you out a refund. Personaly i’v had no trouble with them except there more expensive & iv noticed there exactly the same nappies as other cheaper one’s.

I also did not like Huggies..Pampers are the best..I try different brands to see if they campare to Pampers and they did not. I tried Huggies, Target brand, Luvs, nothing..I like pampers but not the original pampers. I started my baby on Pampers swaddlers and know his on pampers cruisers. They are the best..

  • Jade says:

yeah, its true, the regulars huggies or those that you have, they seems ship and don’t fit well.
I tried them once and was sorry too, so I tried Huggies Supreme and its completely different even better than Pampers, they come in a red wrap and usually have whiny the Pooh cartoons on it, and they are like 2.00 dollars expensier than the regulars.

  • Mar says:

I dont like huggies, they are expensive and they leak, so try luvs and pampers are the best.

  • hellokitty_19_2002 says:

SO I AM GLAD THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE!!! YAY

  • brevejunkie says:

I couldn’t use Huggies with my first son–they leaked terribly and so I switched to the Pampers Swaddlers, then on to regular Pampers. With my second son, Huggies fit him perfectly, and Pampers were the ones that leaked. I think what it all boils down to is how the baby is shaped. My second son has a shorter torso and fatter legs, so maybe this is why Huggies work for him?

Now that my older son is 2 1/2, Huggies work great. (shrug)

  • dragonfly_flutterby says:

Huggies worked for both of my babes. Never tried anything different.

  • nena5271 says:

i use pampers wipes but huggies pampers….and i am very pleased

  • St. Helena Woman :o) says:

Huggies have always given my son a rash. ( He is 3 and not potty trained yet.) So I never use them. I will never use them on our next child which is due in late Jan.

  • AP says:

HUGGIES ARE MORE FIT FOR LITTLE BOYS I USE PARENTS CHOICE ON MY DAUGHTER AND HUGGIES FOR MY SON YOU SHOULD TRY I BELIEVE THEY ARE WHITE CLOUD THEY’RE PRETTY GOOD

  • ab07032002 says:

I tried huggies on my daughter and they leaked as well. I now use pampers cruisers and won’t use anything else. They worked the best so far for me. However, my sister used huggies on her son and they worked just fine.
